Legislation is being introduced in several states throughout the US regarding dealing with the DU problem as it affects returning National Guardsmen. The federal government has shown a complete disregard for the health and safety of American troops when it comes to DU. So activists have turned to their state representatives to fill in the gap. Several states have already passed bills calling for DU screening of returning National Guard personnel who may have been exposed to DU and who seek help for service related illness that may be due to their DU exposure.
In keeping with IDUST's mission to educate and provide information to activists world-wide regarding the dangers of DU, we are setting up this page to track successful legislative activities in each state with regard to these efforts. It is to be hoped that as more states get involved, not only will more people become aware of this insidious menace, but that eventually pressure will be placed on Washington calling for the federal government to act and to ban this scourge.
Please feel free to use the documents included here, which include actual bills passed and contact individuals to put together your own proposals and to work toward getting legislation passed in your own state.
Finally, please keep us informed at info@idust.net as to what YOU are doing and the progress YOU are making, so that we can keep this archive as up-to-date as possible. Also, any donations you might send to help keep this website operating are greatly appreciated. Thank You. .
